Privacy
- Downloads
- Go from the site to your Mac. Fetchii has no account and no cloud library.
- On-device Intelligence
- Speech recognition, on-device translation, summaries and search run on your Mac. Only the models are downloaded.
- Online translation
- Optional and off by default. If you turn it on, subtitle text goes directly to the provider you choose (DeepL, OpenAI or Anthropic) with your own API key.
- Browser sign-in
- Cookies the browser helper sends are stored on your Mac, used only for that site and deleted after 7 days by default.
- Usage statistics and crash reports
- Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports are sent by default and can be turned off in Settings → Privacy. They are not designed to collect URLs or video content.
- Network
- Besides your downloads, Fetchii contacts its licence and trial service, update checks for the app and its download engine, model downloads, and site icons from Google's favicon service. Report a Problem sends only what you choose to include.
Notes
- Fetchii converts and transcribes videos in its own download list; it doesn't open video files from elsewhere.
