Copy the video's link
In your browser, copy the address of the YouTube video page. In the YouTube app or website you can also use Share, then Copy link.

Paste it into Fetchii and press Enter
Click the link field at the top of Fetchii's main window (it reads “Paste or drop a video link, then press Enter”), paste and press Enter. You can also drag the link onto the field, or choose File → Download from Clipboard (⇧⌘V). The download starts with your default quality and format.

Pick quality or format for this video, if you want
Click the options button at the right end of the link field (New Download with Options) instead, or choose File → New Download… (⌘N). In New Download, choose a Quality from Best Available down to Up to 360p (including Up to 4K 60fps), pick Video + Audio or Audio only, and choose where to Save to. Advanced Options lets you pick the Container (MP4, MKV or WebM), or click Browse Formats to see every available format.

Set your usual choices once
Open Fetchii → Settings → Downloads to change the Download location (your Downloads folder by default), the Preferred quality (Best Available by default) and the Container format (MP4 by default). Every download you start with Enter uses these.

Open the file
When the download finishes, hover over it in the list and click Open or Show in Finder, or right-click it and choose either one.

Can I download YouTube videos in 4K?
Yes. Choose Up to 4K or Up to 4K 60fps, or leave the quality on Best Available to get the highest quality the video offers.
Does it work on Intel Macs?
Yes. Downloading works on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 14.6 or later. The on-device transcripts, summaries and search need Apple Silicon.
What if YouTube changes and downloads stop working?
Site support lives in Fetchii's download engine, which updates separately from the app. When a new engine is available, Fetchii shows an Engine update available notice under the toolbar; click Update Now. Check for component updates automatically is on by default in Settings → General.
Is downloading YouTube videos allowed?
It depends on the video, YouTube's terms and where you live. Save videos you made, videos whose licence allows it, or videos you have permission to keep.
